I fixed a leaking garbage disposal on a two compartment sink but messed up the other sink drain while putting everything back together.

So I was successfully able to fix a garbage disposal that was leaking from the top (flange) using some plumbers putty - however while putting everything back together I accidentally bumped the other sink’s drain pipe out. What’s weird about this is that unlike everything else under the sink - it’s not a threaded connection. Quite literary just pvc pipe that connected to the metal flange of the sink drain with I guess some kind of glue(?). Tried adjusting the tightness of all the pvc connections and put some plumbers putty around the pipe but now it doesn’t want to connect. - water test proved it was not a sealed connection. From what I’m reading I might be able to use pvc primer/cement to reseal the connection? Any advice would be appreciated.
