Pine Wood Lego Table

The spare lego pieces are both the best and worst.  The best because this is where imaginations come alive.  The worst because no one wants to step on a lego, much less pick them up constantly.  Lego pieces are getting smaller and smaller.  And more of them.

So I decided to build a lego table for my littles to pile their mix matched and leftover legos into.

It conveniently hinges closed to hide it all and create a surface for other play -

And you can build storage for under it, if you want.

I know this one looks complicated, but it really isn't! 

You can build this project with just off the shelf pine boards, some screws or nails, and your basic saws.  Nothing fancy needed here!

DiResta Samurai “Joinery” Step Stool Challenge

My DiResta Box: https://ift.tt/3xrP4Au Get the 99¢ 27-Plans: https://ift.tt/3lfLdlo For this woodworking project, Jesse AKA “The Samurai Carpenter,” challenged me to make his through tenon step stool... as many of you know, this is not a typical joinery project for me, so it actually was a challenge to build. The wood that I used for this step stool was rough-cut hard maple, and spalting that I got from a sawmill. It was a very stringy wood, that didn’t cut or chisel very easily, and you’ll notice that I try to cut the joinery for this project a few different ways. It turns out that the drilled hole was the way to go! I didn’t follow the plans exactly, as I prefer a more primitive look. I hope that you enjoy this joinery challenge from The Samurai Carpenter.

Angled Bookrack and Toybin

Specific storage makes tidy up a no brainer - especially for toys.  Because kids know exactly where to put things away, making toy room clean up easy and decision free.

This week, Jaime Costiglio and I, are sharing a brand new plan to help you with just that!

This bookrack features a bin at top for organizing books forward facing, suitable for different sized books.  This also displays beautiful book covers facing outward.  The bottom is great for larger items like stuffed animals, blankets, or favorite action figures.  I love that there is no tabletop surface to accumulate clutter on top of.

DiResta Fancy Leather Wallet

Get it all here https://ift.tt/2jQQYEE In this project video I made a fancy leather wallet at the suggestion of a friend. To be honest, I was intimidated by the design and the wallet’s construction, but did it anyway for the lessons I learned, which hopefully you will as well. For this wallet making project I used the Weaver 303 walking foot sewing machine. Of course, I need to make it a few more times to get the confidence in the skills necessary, but I learned a lot.
