Hey everyone. A truck backed into my mailbox post and it's toast. I figured this would be a quick fix, but it turns out that my existing mailbox post is not a very common size. Most wooden mailbox posts are 4x4. Mine is a 5x5 (actual size is 4.5 x 4.5 inches). So here's my question - Can I replace this post with a 4x4 post, or will there be too much room in the hole since old one is bigger?
