As a moderately experienced DIYer and home renovator can I reasonably lay a gas line or is that professional business only?

I’m fairly experienced with electrical, plumbing and woodworking but my wife and I are planning on swapping our electric stove/oven out with a gas one. We already have gas ran to the house, how big of a project/risk would it be to run another line to our kitchen ~10-15 feet from the regulator outside or even closer if I piggy backed off the hot water heater, not sure if that’s advisable though. If this isn’t something I should be tackling approximately how much would it cost to have a professional do it? I live in Tennessee.
