Hanging a cheap whiteboard

I bought a Quartet 3'x4' magnetic whiteboard and some Command picture strips to hang it with. I should have looked more closely at the back, though, because there's nowhere to put the strips. The back of the board is cardboard and is recessed from the frame by almost 1/4". The frame is just barely wide enough for the Command strips - but most of the width is taken up by a recessed channel, presumably to save on weight and material. At the corners of the frame, the channel is filled with aluminum(?) corner brackets screwed into the frame to hold it together.

The mounting hardware that came with the board requires drilling into the walls and is poorly reviewed to boot. There are no attachment points on the board itself; the instructions tell you to hang the board by slipping the frame itself over the brackets so that the brackets slip between the frame and the cardboard. In any case, I don't want to drill holes: I rent, and the walls are plaster, not drywall.

Now what?
