Making a personlized cupboard for my daughter

So my daughter got her first apartment and did some pinterest shopping for cabinet ideas, she has limited cupboard space. So I found a solid oak tv stand that is going to work great for my idea that I have but one area I am stuck. There are two doors at the top and tow at the bottom. She wants to be able to put her garbage and recycle in the bottom but the only way for me to do that is to lift the one shelf up which will work. Is it possible to someone attach these two cupboard doors together and have them act as one? The doors are approx 18x18. Would love some input before I get myself into something that wont work
