How do I replace the bulb in this light fixture?

My wife and I bought a house about 4 months ago. There is a lot to learn while the house and I get to know each other! The house has a light fixture in the "toilet room" of one of the bathrooms. When I turned it on yesterday, it flickered on and off for about 5 minutes, and now won't turn on. I got up on a ladder today to try to change the bulb, but I don't see how to get to the bulb to change it. I pulled the fixture down from the ceiling a little bit to try to learn a little more about the fixture itself and didn't really learn much. I will greatly appreciate any help! What is the brand and model of this fixture? How do I replace the bulb in the fixture? Or do I have to replace the whole fixture? How could I have approached this problem so that I could find the relevant info myself? (For example, do all light fixtures have a standardized sticker somewhere I don't know about?)
