How do I get rid of flies outside my door?

I live in an apartment complex that is across the street from a dairy cow farm. There are a ton of flies that like to hangout outside my apartment door either on the door itself or on the ceiling outside my door. Is there anything I can do to mitigate the amount of flies outside my place or at least make it so they don't come in my apartment whenever I have to open the door?
