Woodworking Hub: Since this question comes up regularly. For those of you not familiar with Purple Heart. This is to illustrate the color of the wood after sitting for months vs freshly cut. If you expose it to UV light it will slowly darken. Also the heat from sanding can cause it to darken (usually in streaks).
