I did mostly steel fixing in Ireland the only wood work was building shutters, but I am trying to do a simple task of hanging something for my wife, in Ireland the walls were brick so drill anchor and last forever, but I thought since I'm drilling into studs here no need for an anchor but even efter drilling pilot holes (maybe they are to short) but the screws suck, I've broke two trying to put up a curtain rail. what is going on?
