My first time installing a new toilet was today. I successfully removed the old toilet (due to a leak). I scrubbed the flange to remove any debris and all the old wax ring. The flange is the only thing aside from the water shutoff valve that remains of the old toilet. I purchased a one piece toilet and put the wax ring on the toilet prior to putting the toilet on the floor. I lined up the new toilet over the secure flange screws and pushed down to seal the wax ring. The bolts on the flange screws were hand tightened to prevent overtightenting and possible porcelain cracks.
Here's the issue: no matter how tight the screws are and how much pressure I put on the toilet it is not flush against the floor (in the front only) and rocks back and forth. I took it off the first time it did it and readjusted the flange screws and tried a new wax ring but had the same results.
Can anyone provide some insight as to what I need to try before bringing in a professional?
There doesn't appear to be any leaking now and the tank and bowl are full and I've flushed it several times.
Thanks for any input!
