I am making a silicone mold that I will use to cast concrete. I have a positive item I will use to create the mold that has no lettering on it. I would like to create a mold that will imprint lettering on the casted object.
The object I’m casting is about 4 inches and the text will be relatively small, so I will need to be able to catch fine details in high resolution.
I was thinking the steps would be:
- Create mold with the positive item
- Use the mold and cast a positive item from a material that can be imprinted with letters after casting
- Use the new positive that has had lettering imprinted in it to create a new silicone mold that has the lettering
- Cast with concrete
If this is the best way to do it, what recommendations do you have for the intermediate casting material that I can imprint with lettering after casting?
If you have an alternative method for accomplishing this, please let me know, I am all ears.
Thank you for the help!
