Galaxy S9 battery mod, is it possible?

I love my Galaxy S9, but one thing that frusteraits me is the battery life. I will not compromise on screen resolution or performance simply because Samsung didn't care to put a sizeable battery in their flagships. I also don't want a battery case as they all suck.

I use a lot of time modding my phone, and would be happy to design an enclosure to house a bigger battery. I have some experience with CAD sowftware and would of course share my progress here if I were to design a working housinh for a beefier battery.

My question is, is this even doable? In an old Reddit post somewhere where someone did something similar where they were talking about having to mod the kernel in order for the phone to use the new battery. Could anyone elaborate on this?

Also, where would I find a good candidate for this project? It would have to be between 4500 - 7000 mah for this to be worth it, where would I find a compatible fit for the S9? (I don't know much about electricity or batteries)

Also, any safety concerns outside of the obvious that I should be aware of?

If I find that this is possible and try to move forward with it, I will be making another post where I go into a lot more detail, but for now, if anyone could help, that would be strongly appriciated.
