Contractor installed linear shower drain without drain base. How critical of a mistake is this? Want to know whether this is something I should hire a plumber to fix or let be.

Correct way to do this based on my research is to attach the drain base to the p-trap then screw on the adapter. Instead, he put a threaded end on the p-trap and screwed in the adapter the thread.

So the question is, how serious is this mistake?

1. Must fix
2. Should fix but probably okay
