I have a woodstove and I've thought about replacing it with a Masonry Heater. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masonry_heater
One of the problems I've run into is that none of my local home improvement stores seem to sell brick. They sell landscaping pavers and "common" concrete bricks, but nobody sells (red) "clay" bricks of the sort that you see brick houses built out of. Eg, this is not what I want: https://www.menards.com/main/building-materials/concrete-cement-masonry/construction-concrete-blocks/common-brick/1796196/p-1444441445372.htm
Or is a concrete brick what I want? Is a concrete brick equivalent to a red clay brick for thermal storage applications?
I've looked around on craigslist for used brick but nothing shows up right now.
