I’m trying to build a curtain for a stage that automatically drops

I saw slayer once, and they had this curtain that automatically dropped second song into the set. I figure I can source the curtain, string a wire and attach it with 4 carabiner type fasteners, but I need to figure out how to trigger the fasteners to release remotely. Any help is very appreciated
