Hi all! I'm currently finishing a tabletop with polyurethane and I've never worked with it before. I applied two coats to the underside as a test and I'm getting a lot of air bubbles that I'd like to avoid for the top. You can see an example at the bottom of the picture. I'm pretty sure the bubbles are from application. I'm using a soft brush and I notice bubbles when the poly first touches the wood, which I assume the brush is causing. Between coats I've been rinsing my brush with water and keeping it in a bowl of mineral spirits. I then shake the brush for a bit before starting the next coat. Is that the best way to store the brush? Should I be using a new brush each time? I really have 2 questions:
Thanks for you help! [link] [comments] |
