Circuit breaker popped, switching it back on only turns on a few outlets, but the rest remain unpowered and lights are off as well.

My wife was working on a craft project. She had an iron on, her computer on, TV and sound at on, as well as the house modem, router, and NAS. All of those devices are on surge protectors. Anyway, the breaker popped. When she went to reset the breaker, only a few outlets turned on, no lights as well. The breaker covers 2 rooms: the master bedroom and bath, and my office. In my office, 2 of the 4 sockets are working. In the bedroom, 2 outlets in the bathroom are working, but the rest of the room's outlets and all the lights (main bedroom, bathroom, and walk-in closet) do not work. We've already checked for GFCIs in the room, and there's none there. Popped the circuit breaker on and off several times; still not working. Removed everything that was plugged into the outlets, turned the breaker off for a few minutes and turned it back on again; didn't work. I went out and bought a new 15 amp breaker, but before I install it, is there anything else I should look for? The house was built in 2009, if that means anything. Thanks, /r/DIY !
