Can anyone suggest a front door closing mechanism?

I've looked into a spring loaded hinge like this, but it seems like its for inside doors only.

I've also looked into hydraulic door closers like this, but its a little too intrusive on the door frame and will make opening the door harder.

The reason for this is because I'm part of a university club working on a project to help open and close a door for a patient with a wheelchair who can't use her arms to push or pull a door, but we also don't have the money for a full on handicap door system.

Right now, we're in the process of first figuring out how to close the front door first as that's the more important part, and then figure out a method to opening the door (we thought of using a pulley and string system that will open with a button through a garage door opener receiver)
