I removed some old plastic wall tiles and there was a thick tacky adhesive underneath. Scraped everything as much as I could and then applied a stain blocking primer and skim coated. After two coats the residual adhesive is bleeding through the skim coat and it also has an odd odor. House is built in 1925, located in Minnesota.
