Trying to help a friend fix his house, need some advice. It appears the wood support beam for the house has twisted/failed, resulting in the front of the house bowing/sinking from lack of support from the cement foundation.

It seems like he'd need to jack the front of the house up, replace the support board, and put it back down. I just don't know where he's going to jack it up and support the front of the house if he's removing the supporting board.

Here's what it looks like: Picture
