I'm selling my house and the buyers are coming in two days to do their home inspection. There are a few small issues things I was planning to leave, but now I'm thinking the fewer small 'bugs' there are for the home inspector to notice, the better.
In my bathroom tub/shower, I have a matching spout, faucet, shower head set. It's probably about 10 years old. The spout leaks a lot of water when diverter valve is pulled up to use the shower and it's gradually been getting worse. I checked at home depot and they have a set that has a same/similar spout but I'd have to buy the whole set for over $200. I'd rather not do that.
My suspicion is that the diverter valve is caked up with calcium/lime deposits. I'm tempted to remove the spout and soak it in CLR.
Anybody have any experience with this? Is it lime/calcium deposits or is it likely just corroded beyond repair?
