Awkward cabinet gap
Okay I’m in the middle of doing my kitchen. I replaced the old wider gas stove (propane) with a new electric. I need help with ideas for filling the gaps between the stove and the cabinets and the vent hood and the cabinets. Will be putting cabinet doors back on. They’re off for stripping and painting here’s a picture

Lath and Plaster crack repair help
Hi All,
Looking for any experience with plaster repair. See picture, that is the 1942ish Portland living room I'm trying to fix up. I want to do as much right now to avoid as many future cracks as possible, especially the ceiling. There's very little movement of the plaster from the lath, 1mm at most. Currently I plan to spray/paint with some PVA/glue, fill with 'One Pass' + a little glue, cover with extra strength Drywall tape, smooth with more 'One Pass' (while wet). What do you guys think? Any one have better options?
Thanks in advance!

Switch-controlled outlet half works
Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but I’m not sure which other sub would be better.
Most of the outlets in my living room are controlled by a wall switch. The top receptacle is controlled by the switch while the bottom is always hot. We moved into this house two years ago and no issues. Yesterday, all the top receptacles stopped working regardless of the switch’s position. The bottom half still works.
If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, I would be super grateful. A quick Google search didn’t turn anything helpful up.

Advice! Armoured cable to power garage at end of garden.
Hello!
UK based!
I’m looking for some advice, I’m not a qualified electrician by any means, I’m happy with wiring plugs and simple circuits, but once we get into cable diameters I’m out.
My in-laws have a garage at the end of their garden, they’re looking at upgrade it a bit by adding some power for lights and some 13amp sockets.
The cable run is 40 meters and it’s being fed from an 16amp MCB on their main intake to the house. When looking at armoured cable to run down the garden (I don’t want to put a spade through it in a few years time and get a nasty shock.... pun intended) I was given an array of core diameters, I literally have no idea what I’d need, but also understand that too thin a core will beat up and either burn out or worse, cause a fire.
Can anyone explain the maths to me? It’s literally going to run 2 fluorescent lights and some 13amp sockets to charge power tools, power the hoover to clean the car, simple garage stuff, no car lifts, no heavy machinery.
Thanks in advance!

Out of square wardrobe frame. Need help working out remedy.
Hello,
I have started an attempt at building a wardrobe. I created the frame out of birch 3/4" plywood. I used wood glue and screws to secure outside frame and glue and nails to secure the back. However, I did not check square before. I just checked and it's out of square by 1/4". I am going to attach doors to this and was wondering if anyone has any idea on a remedy to my problem. I have thought of solutions but am new to wood working and am at a loss.
