Mesclun/Mixed Greens

I’m new to gardening and made the error of planting mesclun/mixed green seeds in the summer :( I put them in a long container on my balcony. I live in Maryland and it’s starting to get pretty hot here. Is all hope lost? What if I bring them inside? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Best material for a balcony plant box

Im wondering about whether anyone has experience planting veggies in plastic Rubbermaid type bins? I’m trying to decide between that and wooden crates (untreated) lined with landscape fabric. Ps. The plastic bins are already owned so I would t be purchasing MORE plastic, if anyone was concerned about the environmental factor regarding that. Thanks!
