My mailbox is old and rusted and it's time to replace it. It's attached to a 1 5/8" galvanized metal fence post that's still solid and in great condition, but I've been looking everywhere for some kind of adapter for this diameter of post and haven't had any luck. The old adapter is rusted through and not salvageable. I'd rather not have to replace the pole...any guidance or ideas?
