Recent roof job, bad vent work, need advice

(crosspost from /r/HomeImprovement)

We recently had our roof replaced. The roofers re-routed all our bathroom fart fans with flex ducting to minimize roof penetrations. A while ago and for unrelated reasons (fun and learning) I decided to put a couple of sensors in the attic (temp, humidity and light). I noticed shortly that there was a spike in humidity at one of the sensors closest to the master bathroom every day after I showered.

I went up and inspected the work and I saw this: https://imgur.com/a/tZ8gjkf

There was a large swath of duct tape covering an area where the duct attached to the roof. It seemed like someone was really trying to cover something up. So I peeled it down and there is a gaping hole between the duct and the roof. I figure this must be where the humidity spike is coming from but now I need to figure out the best way to seal this thing up.

How should I fix it properly? Clearly adding more duct tape isn't the correct approach.
