I am looking into making a DIY electric go kart, using this controller. There is one thing I'm confused about though, and that is the braking mechanism. i'm looking to minimize warping (sagging due to weight) while also using only 6 anchor points.

1. gluing the plexi to plywood and mounting the plywood to the wall.
2. using drilled anchor points (1/4") to bolt the plexi to steel studs

drilling into studs

I did mostly steel fixing in Ireland the only wood work was building shutters, but I am trying to do a simple task of hanging something for my wife, in Ireland the walls were brick so drill anchor and last forever, but I thought since I'm drilling into studs here no need for an anchor but even efter drilling pilot holes (maybe they are to short) but the screws suck, I've broke two trying to put up a curtain rail. what is going on?

Does this exist? If so, what's it called and where can I get it?

I want a long, extended strike plate for a spring-loaded bolt latch (like these). The reason why, is that I want a long, slanted strike plate so that the bolt doesn't have to be pulled back when moving the panel it's attached to into place. The tip of the bolt will touch the plate, and compress as the panel is pushed, then, like a traditional door latch, the bolt will spring into the mortise at the end of the slope.

I've googled to hell, and can't find such a product for spring loaded bolt latches. Do these exist, or am I going to have to fabricate it myself?

“Floating” computer desk (heavy)

Just wondering - for my new office I wanted to do a 98” Karlby desk top from ikea. It’s wood and veneer and it weighs a staggering 87 lbs. I’m wondering if there’s a technique to solidly attach this desk to the wall in a floating fashion (think floating shelf). I dont mind if some hardware is visible but I don’t want any legs and preferably not your typical L shaped brackets. The wall will have wooden studs to drill into. Any ideas? Is this feasible (the desk will also have to hold the weight of stuff and my arms

We have a pedestal sink and want to remove the pedestal. What's the best way to do this?

We want to put our litterbox under the sink in our small bathroom, but the pedestal takes up a lot of space. I've seen a few different options, such as "floating pedestals" and sink frames with small metal legs. Both of these could work, but what are my options?

I can't seem to find a floating pedestal that's generic, they all seem to fit to a specific sink. I'd like to avoid putting holes in the wall or floor if possible, as we'd be destroying the tile (the current pedestal isn't bolted to anything). We also have little money to work with, so the cheaper the better!
