Hello! I’m not looking for a solid solution, just guidance on what to research next. I’m building a 50ft wide garage door (a bi-fold airplane hangar door) for a barn. I’m fully capable of building the door from a mechanical standpoint; however, I do need some help with the motor that will control the door. I’m wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to set the motor to turn on for specific duration/distance? I’m familiar with arduino, but not entirely sure that’s the best way of tackling this project. Looking forward to hearing suggestions!
