New to DIY and annoyed at painting.

My wife and I have big plans for the house but we are starting small by painting our guest room and it was both our first time ever to paint.

We watched some YouTube videos, got supplies, taped off, cut in, and we discovered my rolling technique was horrendous. The first ceiling section I started working looks stupid. We got a flow going after a while, but dammit I'm grumpy at that first chunk. Wife had an easier time blending and evening out, but still annoyed at how amateur it looks. Drying is helping, but I'm sure I'll notice it forever.

Now I'm going to bed frustrated and tipsy.
