I have been a weekend warrior for the last 6 weeks replacing a lot of rotting fascia and soffit boards on my house. I was happy to finally get to start painting and see the colors my wife and I choose come to life on our tired '72 ranch home. I love using an airless sprayer and although I do have a spray shield like THIS I was still having blow back behind the guard and I am also not the best at stopping when I get to the end and have a tendency to still over spray. Plus these things load up with paint very fast. So I want to mask off like I did for other non-brick areas. I could not find a way to mask off on the brick when it came to painting the soffits. I decided I had nothing to lose and tried Duct tape. It work very well. Once prepped the job went very fast and it turned out great.
HERE is how I did it. I hope it can help someone else that had my same dilemma.
