Refrigerator broke, thermistor is showing 0 resistance. Is that the problem?

Fridge started acting funny - freezer was working fine but fridge temp hovered around 55 - and now the fridge does nothing when plugged in. Light still comes on so power is working. Compressor relays seems healthy. The thermistor shows zero resistance at room temp, but I can't find a spec sheet for it. Does that mean it's broken? I'd expect to see 100% resistance if it was failed, not none.

I checked resistance on the two leads on the bottom in the picture.

Thanks!
