I am making a gaming table. There is a play area and a 4.5 inch lip around the main structure which will fold out to give a small 10 inch surface for people playing to hold dice and drinks etc. I'm not sure however the folding join I plan to use will be strong enough.

I did not design my table to have a high lip around it like in the picture. My table, is going to have a 2 7/8" lip.
Below is my design for my joints. I plan to have 4 per side, across a 5 foot edge. Any advice would be great i am concerned it will not be strong enough.
