Help with air duct between floors - fire break

I have a room thats too hot and the room on the floor above is too cold. I would like to cut a hole between the two and install a duct but I don't want to create a path in case of fire. Is there a way to do this and maintain a fire break?

I have googled but I have not found an answer. Asked at big box etc.
