My furnace doesn't turn on, but there's definitely gas running to it (the pilot stays lit). I've checked to see if there are any mechanical issues on the furnace end, and it doesn't seem to be the case. However, power is running to the transformer but not from it, so I'm assuming that this is the source of the issue.
The furnace is an old Lennox system (haven't been able to find the serial or model numbers). The transformer seems fairly particular: 115V Primary 50-60Hz 23V Secondary 12VA. I haven't been able to find a replacement yet, nor have contracting companies been helpful.
I have been able to find several 115V Primary 50-60Hz 24V Secondary XVA options, including 30, 40, and 60VA. Is it safe to use one of them instead? Right now it's just the 12VA, and I'd like to get my furnace running in time for winter. Thank you!
