Adjustable height desk

I need some ideas for a cheap manual way of building a height adjustable Table.

Already got the table top. Just need help how to do the the "legs". Was thinking about just using ropes and pulleys on the ceiling since I got those parts on hand.

Also thought about an ironing board scissors lift type thing made from wood. Both of which would be cheap but not easy enough for my lazy self.

Any other ideas?
