Wiring a Push Button Igniter

So while messing around with my blow torch, the wire leading to the head of the torch from the push button igniter came loose and now the igniter doesn’t spark. Basically I can “plug” it back in, and the metallic cone at the end will shock me, but the igniter still doesn’t spark. Is it viable to just solder the wire back together? I believe the two points are making contact since I the electricity is flowing through the end of the cone, but I don’t know why the igniter isn’t sparking.

Hanging 55" TV across metal studs

Hi All

I am a complete DIY newbie who needs some info on how to best hang a TV on metal studs. I initially had a friend come around and help me out, but after watching him for a little bit I realised he had no idea what he was doing. He ended up drilling the lag bolt which comes with the mount into the studs. Once he did this he also put 4 drywall anchors into my wall because he told me there were no other studs on the wall (I later found the second stud less than half a cm from where he drilled a drywall anchor!).

Anyways the mount didn't fit so he was supposed to come back when I get a bigger mount. I did a check on the work he did and the screws are not in very well and don't tighten properly (they are threaded and just continually turn). I imagine if I put the TV on the wall it is just going to rip the bolts out and smash my TV.

I have been doing some research and found that I should probably use some kind of toggle/anchor to secure the mount. I had a look at my local hardware store and found these -- would they be suitable?

Building a wall.

So my wife and I are working on a small stage in our home for our kids. We want to build a wall on both sides of it. Due to some poor planning, where the wall is to be built is in a place where there's only a minimal amount of ceiling joist available to be anchored in to.

My question is if I could use a toggle bolt or ceiling anchor to attach the wall to the ceiling?

Furnace air still smells like cigarettes after filter change & duct cleaning

Hey guys.

My wife and I recently bought a home that the previous owner smoked in. I've removed a lot of the odour with intense scrubbing, shellac based primer on all the walls and fresh sealant on the hardwood but... Whenever the furnace runs the air carries the smell. I had a duct cleaning done and changed the filter.

Is there anything else I can do to clean the tar/ nicotine from my furnace or my ducts?

I also had ozone guys come in and do their thing too.

Fill the gap between the stove and the counter?

I'm looking for something to fill the gap between the counter and the stove top. All the ready-made solutions are very wide and black. I'm looking for something minimalist, preferably clear. Any ideas?
